How to turn on automatic ad hiding
- Open settings and turn Hide Promo Banners on.
- Keep Auto-hide Ads on for automatic hiding, or turn it off to show Hide ad controls.
- In manual mode, choose Hide ad on a detected promotion to remember its dismissal.
- Use Re-scan Banners after a new promotion appears, or Reset Dismissed Ads to clear remembered dismissals.

It hides supported promotional banners, cards, and popovers. QuickBooks can introduce new ad layouts, so it does not guarantee removal of every in-app ad. The goal is to hide detected promotions while keeping balances, banking controls, and navigation usable.
How do I hide QuickBooks ads automatically?
Turn Hide Promo Banners on in QBO Cleaner, then leave Auto-hide Ads on. The extension hides detected promotions on supported QuickBooks Online pages. To choose ads individually, leave Hide Promo Banners on and turn Auto-hide Ads off instead.
Why am I still seeing ads after enabling ad hiding?
Check both settings, then try Re-scan Banners. If the page was already open when you installed or reloaded the extension, refresh QBO. A new or unsupported promotional layout may need an extension update. Check your installed version against this guide’s availability note.
Does hiding ads change my accounting records?
The ad-hiding feature changes the page display; it does not delete bills, payments, or other accounting records. Turn Hide Promo Banners off to restore detected promotions. Reset Dismissed Ads clears remembered manual dismissals; automatic hiding can hide the same promotion again if it remains enabled.
