Everyday workflow

Open recurring templates directly

Choose the template name to reach its editor.

A little less friction.

Make supported recurring transaction names keyboard-accessible shortcuts to their own native Edit action. This helps when reviewing recurring bills, expenses, and other templates.

How to use it

  1. Enable Workflow Polish and open Recurring transactions.
  2. Choose the template name you want to inspect, or focus it with the keyboard.
  3. Press Enter or Space to open its native editor.
  4. Review the template and save or cancel using QBO.

What that looks like

Illustrative example

Choose Monthly Building Lease to open that template’s editor. Check the vendor and schedule before changing any recurring instructions.

Good to know before you start

What you need

  • Workflow Polish enabled.
  • A recurring list row with a supported native Edit action.

Scope & limitations

  • Opening a template does not itself post a new accounting transaction.
  • QBO permissions and row actions determine which editor is available.
  • Turning Workflow Polish off restores the original name behavior.
